Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington, Ohio to live in Los Angeles. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first acting gig as the title character in the web-based video show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. After earning an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance of Murder in Greenwich of a 15-year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace went on to take home the award. Grace Rutherford, the character in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace wanted to focus on film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. She has appeared on Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club both in 2007 and in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) are her re-casts of these characters. Grace returned to the Lost series in the final two episodes playing Shannon. The year was 2013, and she was a guest in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie and is also a model stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as older that Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in the films of her father as an adolescent. Together with her brother she was also on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her leading performances in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) as well as the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination. Her fame grew after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercial films she starred in during the year 2006. For her performance as the single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she got a nomination in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Following that she was able to play in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011), and The Won't Back Down (12). Some of her other roles are as an agent for The Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and as a singer as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she portrays the lead role. In 2021 Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut in the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded an award at the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated to win the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
